WHO Commends Uganda's Response to Recent Ebola Scare

The World Health Organization has commended Uganda's health authorities for a swift response to a suspected Ebola case that emerged in a central district last month, crediting rapid contact tracing for preventing wider spread.

No further confirmed cases have been recorded since the initial alert, and the affected district has since been declared clear following the standard monitoring period.

"Uganda's experience managing previous outbreaks meant response teams were able to move quickly and decisively," a WHO regional official said.

Health officials say surveillance systems along border districts remain on heightened alert as a precaution.
