Rugby Cranes Secure Historic Win Over Kenya Simbas
Uganda's national rugby team claimed a first away victory over their regional rivals in over a decade.
Uganda's national rugby sevens side, the Rugby Cranes, secured a historic 24-19 away win over Kenya's Simbas, their first victory in Nairobi in more than ten years.
The result is a major boost for Ugandan rugby, which has invested heavily in youth development programmes over the past five years.
"This win belongs to every young player who has come through our academy system," said team captain after the match.
The Rugby Cranes now turn their attention to continental sevens qualifiers later this year.
