A new documentary tracing the evolution of Ugandan gospel music premiered in Kampala this week, featuring interviews with pioneering artists, producers and church leaders.
The hour-long film covers the genre's growth from small church choirs in the 1990s to today's professionally produced gospel artists who regularly top national and regional charts.
"Gospel music here has its own story, distinct from what you see in Nigeria or the US. This film is about honouring that story," the director said.
The documentary will be screened in select cinemas before being made available online.
