Church Leaders Call for Unity Ahead of National Prayer Breakfast
Denominational leaders met this week to plan the annual event, urging Ugandans to set aside differences for a common day of prayer.
Leaders from Uganda's major church denominations met in Kampala this week to plan this year's National Prayer Breakfast, calling for greater unity among Christians ahead of the event.
"Our nation faces real challenges. This is a moment for the Church to stand together, not apart," said one bishop involved in the planning committee.
The National Prayer Breakfast, held annually, typically draws senior government officials, diplomats and religious leaders from across denominations.
This year's event is scheduled to take place next month at a venue in Kampala yet to be announced.
