Mbarara Set to Host Regional Trade Expo Next Month
Organisers expect over 300 exhibitors from Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo at the western region's largest trade fair in five years.
Mbarara City will host the Western Uganda Regional Trade Expo next month, bringing together manufacturers, agro-processors and cross-border traders from Uganda, Rwanda and eastern DR Congo.
The five-day event, organised with the Uganda Manufacturers Association, is expected to draw more than 300 exhibitors and thousands of visitors to the city's showgrounds.
"This expo is about connecting western Uganda's producers directly to regional markets," said UMA regional coordinator Patience Kembabazi.
Local hoteliers say bookings are already filling up, with the city's business community hoping the event becomes an annual fixture.
