WAKISO POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED TORTURE OF TWO CHILDREN BY THEIR MOTHER

Wakiso Police are holding a 38-year-old woman on allegations of torturing her two biological children, aged 7 and 8, both female.

The suspect has been identified as Nasanga Sophia, a resident of Kireka Biira, Nakabugo Parish, Wakiso Sub-county, Wakiso District.

On October 28, 2026, at about 1300 hours, Police received information that the suspect had severely beaten her two children and burnt them using a hot knife that had been heated in a charcoal stove.

The suspect was arrested and the victims were rescued.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly claimed that the children were disrespectful and had allegedly stolen her Shs 5,000.

The suspect is expected to appear in court today, October 29, 2026 .

We strongly condemn all acts of child torture and abuse, regardless of who is responsible—even if the perpetrators are the children’s biological parents.

We urge members of the public to desist from all forms of child torture and abuse, and to report any suspected cases to the relevant authorities.
